For the last several years I have operated my own free-lance Illustration and Design studio. Before that I was an award winning Editorial Artist and Art Director for the Pittsburgh Press, in charge of a seven man Editorial Art Department. As an Editorial Artist it was my responsibility to illustrate articles for six daily editions, the Sunday edition, as well as designing pages and covers for various special editions and the Pittsburgh Sunday magazine. As Art Director, I continued those duties in addition to overseeing the daily operation of the department. I was responsible for budgeting of both time and money, purchasing, negotiating with outside vendors, trafficking the various assignments of the Art Department. During my tenure as Art Director, the Pittsburgh Press won an unprecedented number of both illustration and design awards

Head of a seven man Art Department, my duties included scheduling ofboth assignments and manpower, purchasing, personnel evaluations, maintaining a high quality of graphics and illustrations used in the daily and Sunday editions. As an Illustrator and designer, IÕve done full color and black and white illustrations, sports andOPED illustrations. photo retouching, live court room illustrations, magazine layout and design, computer illustration and graphics using Illustrator, Photoshop. and Quark Xpress. Four time Golden Quill Award winner for Feature Illustration, nine time winner of Scripps-Howard Graphics of the Month and Illustration Awards. I was also part of the Press labor-management relations committee
